\n\tItalian producer Andrea Iervolino<\/a>, whose credits include Michael Mann\u2019s \u201cFerrari,\u201d is launching a new AI<\/a> label and has announced production of \u201cThe Sweet Idleness\u201d which he touts as \u201cthe first film directed by a virtual director.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film is \u201cconceived to celebrate the poetic and dreamlike language of great European cinema\u201d and directed \u201cby an AI agent\u201d called \u201cFellinAI,\u201d according to a statement.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Sweet Idleness\u201d depicts \u201ca tomorrow in which only 1% of humanity still works, transforming labor into a symbolic ritual, while the rest of the population lives in the freedom and leisure provided by machines,\u201d the provided synopsis says. \u201cAmid cathedral-factories, mechanical clowns, and surreal processions, the \u2018last workers\u2019 become the final masks of a humanity that resists the insolence of labor.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe announcement from Iervolino, who is embroiled in financial litigation having recently parted ways with business partner Monika Bakardi, comes as AI actress Tilly Norwood<\/a> has sparked backlash from the acting community, prompting SAG-AFTRA to lash out.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFor the first time, the traditional roles of the film industry are being redefined,\u201d Iervolino said in the statement.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAndrea Iervolino takes on the new role of Human-on-the-Loop \u2014 the human supervisor and producer who guides, monitors, and ensures the creative and production consistency of the AI process,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\n\tAndrea Biglione, director of Italian films\u00a0\u201cAlmeno tu nell\u2019universo,\u201d\u00a0\u201cN.E.E.T.,\u201d\u00a0\u201cDrony\u201d\u00a0and producer of the film\u00a0\u201cDiario di un maniaco perbene,\u201d \u201cis the system\u2019s developer as well as Human-in-the-Loop, a bridge between algorithmic intuition and human artistic sensitivity,\u201d according to the statement.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe cast is provided by Actor+, an in-house agency of The Andrea Iervolino Company, that works with real people. Performers lend their faces, physicality, and personality to bring to life new digital actors and characters, the company noted.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThese digital actors, born from the union of human presence and generative technology, will not exist only on screen: they will continue to live beyond the film, through social media, opinions, interactions, and personal content. The Andrea Iervolino Company defines this new dimension as Digital Human\u2019s Existency \u2014 the \u2018social and narrative existence\u2019 of the digital actor in the real and online world,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n
