Jackson joins Cher and Madonna as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/madonna-hot-100-hits-five-distinct-decades-popular-debut-1235353536\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">only women<\/a> to have new Hot 100 hits in five distinct decades.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThanks to \u201cPrincipal,\u201d Jackson lands her first Hot 100 credit since \u201cMade for Now,\u201d a 2018 collaboration with Daddy Yankee, and has now charted in every decade since the 1980s.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cPrincipal\u201d traces its Hot 100 entrance largely to 4.9 million official streams in the United States for the Sept. 19-25 tracking week, according to Luminate, with a small assist from 1,000 sales downloads and 725,000 radio audience impressions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe Cardi B-Jackson collaboration appears on Cardi B\u2019s new album, Am I the Drama?, which debuts at No. 1 on this week\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/billboard-200\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Billboard 200<\/a> albums chart.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAs pop-music fans might suspect, \u201cPrincipal\u201d features a sample of Jackson\u2019s \u201cThe Pleasure Principle.\u201d The Control single climbed to a No. 14 high in August 1987, helped by its music video with a well-remembered dance routine that won an MTV Video Music Award for best choreography at the 1988 ceremony.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe youngest of Joseph and Katherine Jackson\u2019s children, Jackson made her Hot 100 debut in December 1982 with \u201cYoung Love,\u201d which reached a No. 64 best the following month. After early show-business exposure as an actress, she pivoted to music with her self-titled debut LP in 1982 and its follow up, 1984\u2019s Dream Street.
