Since\u00a0Karen Huger<\/a>‘s Sept. 2 release from prison<\/a> following her sentence for\u00a0a DUI conviction<\/a>, Ashley Darby<\/a> has shown her support for her longtime friend.<\/p>\n

Ashley recently spoke to BravoTV.com at The Real Housewives of Potomac<\/a> Season 10 premiere party, where she opened up about Karen. “Yes, I did a little check in on Karen, as many of us knew, the big day came. And she’s been taking her time to, what I understand, really connecting with her family. So I’m hoping to see her very soon when she’s ready,” Ashley shared exclusively at the event, held on Sept. 30. “I sent her some flowers addressed to ‘Lady H,’ as is appropriate, but I really do want to see her.”<\/p>\n

Karen Huger’s prison sentence explained<\/p>\n

Karen served six months in a correctional facility\u00a0after\u00a0a jury found her guilty of multiple counts<\/a>\u00a0related to a March\u00a0 2024 single-car collision. The conviction came after a two-day trial, where she was charged with driving under the influence, driving while intoxicated, speeding, driving with a suspended registration, and not reporting a change of address to the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration.<\/p>\n

Following the guilty verdict, Karen sat down with an RHOP producer to share her reaction to the news.<\/p>\n

“My heart dropped. This is very frightening, but I accept full responsibility for everything that went on with my car accident,” she said in a video that played during\u00a0the\u00a0RHOP\u00a0Season 9 reunion, which she was absent from<\/a>. “I don’t care about me right now; I care about my children, I care about my family. They are so hurt… I know a lot of young children look up to me right now, [they] call me Auntie Karen, [the] Grand Dame. Do as I say, not as I do.”<\/p>\n
