LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — More than four years after a 13-year-old Lebanon County boy was fatally shot, police are still seeking tips that will lead to an arrest in the cold case.

South Lebanon Township Police said on Friday that officers are continuing to investigate Jason Rivera’s death. He was found with gunshot wounds in a parking lot in the area of 350 Vine Street just after 9 p.m. on Feb. 15, 2022, and was taken to the hospital, where he died.

“It has been over four years since 13-year-old Jason Rivera’s life was tragically taken,” police said in a statement. “His case remains unsolved. We KNOW someone knows something. Circumstances change. Loyalties change. Consciences change. To the person—or persons—who know what happened… it’s time to do the right thing.”

In 2025, Lebanon County District Attorney Pier Hess Graf said the shooting was “somehow drug related and/or motivated.” Officials have long said the shooting was not random.

Further complicating the investigation, the gun used in the shooting was later found with a man in Maryland who was killed in a homicide three weeks prior. Hess Graf said at the time there were no links between the man and Rivera, and the gun was stolen.

No arrests have been made yet in connection with Rivera’s death.
