Here are Monday’s updates from the U.S.-Iran cease-fire and Israel’s war with Hezbollah:

■ Former hostage Rom Braslavski said those responsible for the Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023 are currently in the Knesset, Israel’s parliament.

■ European Union Foreign Ministers approved sanctions against seven violent Israeli settlers and organizations in the West Bank, a source familiar with the matter told Haaretz. Among the sanctioned groups is right-wing NGO Regavim, co-founded by Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. He called for the annexation of “strategic” areas in the West Bank in response.

■ U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran’s response to the U.S. cease-fire offer was “just unacceptable,” characterizing Tehran’s offer as a “stupid proposal.” Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said his country’s armed forces were ready to respond to “any aggression.”

■ The Israeli military currently controls 68 locations in southern Lebanon, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam confirmed to DPA. This amounts to nearly half of the territory south of the Litani River, which is situated approximately 30 kilometres (about 18.5 miles) north of the Israeli border.

■ Lebanon’s president has urged the United States to put pressure on ‌Israel to cease fire and stop home demolitions in south Lebanon, the presidency said

■ A surface-to-air missile was launched at an Israeli aircraft operating in southern Lebanon, the Israeli military said in a statement. Hezbollah said it intercepted an Israeli drone operating in the Tyre region of Lebanon, according to Al Jazeera, which cited the militant group.

■ Israeli forces severed the Gaza Strip’s main Salah al-Din highway, which is outside the IDF-controlled parts of Gaza, shooting at vehicles and houses in the stretch of the road between Khan Yunis and Deir al-Balah, the U.K.-based Quds Press reported.
