Israel’s representative at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, Noam Bettan, took the stage on Tuesday night for the semifinal competition.

Bettan performed his song “Michelle,” accompanied by dancer Lihi Freud, who plays the titular Michelle.

During his performance, audience members were heard yelling “Genocide.”

During the semifinal, viewers across the world will be able to vote. Their votes will be combined with the jury scores from Monday’s rehearsal to determine whether “Michelle” will be performed again on Saturday in the final.

Prior to Bettan’s performance, Israel was ranked 6th overall in the official betting pool, with a 96% chance of qualifying for the final.

This is a developing story.
