BAGHDAD — Iraq’s General Authority for Meteorology said Thursday that partly cloudy conditions are expected across central and northern areas, with chances of light thundershowers in mountainous parts of the Kurdistan Region.
According to a forecast report, southern areas will see mostly clear skies with intermittent cloud cover.
Temperatures are expected to decline by a few degrees in central and northern Iraq compared with Wednesday, while southern regions will record a slight drop. Conditions are expected to remain relatively hot during the day, with milder weather during morning and nighttime hours.
Northwesterly winds at speeds of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour are expected in central and southern regions, with gusts reaching up to 45 kilometers per hour, causing moderate dust in desert areas of central Iraq.
In northern areas, winds will be light and westerly at speeds between 5 and 10 kilometers per hour, with occasional periods of calm conditions.
Visibility is expected to range between 8 and 10 kilometers, decreasing to between 3 and 5 kilometers in dusty areas.
