CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Virginia U.S. Senator Tim Kaine is continuing his push to stop what he calls an “unwise and illegal” war with Iran.
Kaine criticized President Trump for moving forward without congressional approval, saying Virginians are already feeling the impact through rising gas prices and inflation.
“The question is — haven’t we learned something after 25 years of war in the Middle East? The sacrifice of our troops is always so commendable, but they deserve civilian leaders who will make the right decision,” Kaine said.
Kaine said he plans to force another Senate vote next week on a war powers resolution that would require congressional approval before further military action against Iran.
