Iraq’s oil exports reached a significant milestone in April, with the country exporting 10 million barrels through the strategic Strait of Hormuz, according to Basim Mohammed, the nation’s new oil minister.

In a recent press conference, Mohammed outlined Iraq’s aspirations to increase its oil production and export capabilities by collaborating with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

The ministry aims to escalate Iraq’s oil production to a capacity of 5 million barrels per day, reflecting Baghdad’s strategic focus on optimizing its energy sector.
