LEBANON, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Lebanon Police Department (LPD) has released more information in connection with several raids that were conducted in Wilson County and in an area of Nashville on Tuesday, in connection with a vehicle theft ring that its special operations division has been investigating for more than a month.

LPD reports that the raids were made possible with the help of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Wilson County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI.

As part of the raids, four homes in Lebanon/Wilson County were searched, along with a home on Clarksville Highway in the Whites Creek area of Davidson County.

During the Tuesday raids, officers recovered multiple stolen vehicles, including two GMC Sierras reported stolen out of Texas and Ohio, along with a stolen Polaris Slingshot. Investigators uncovered evidence related to the alteration and falsification of VIN numbers.

Police said that the operation executed on Tuesday is connected with efforts from a previous multi-agency search warrant operation on April 23.

LPD’s investigation began in mid-April after officers found stolen vehicles with altered VIN numbers while executing search warrants related to the illegal sale of narcotics in the city.

The department reports that the investigation into this vehicle theft ring remains active and ongoing, with charges pending. Police said more details cannot be released at this time.
