MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Lebanon man was arrested in Mt. Juliet after officers caught him sneaking items out of Kroger on Tuesday night.
The Mt. Juliet Police Department reported on Tuesday night that officers watched as a man removed stolen items from his pants pockets and placed them into an empty shopping bag shortly after exiting Kroger.

The officers approached, and the 44-year-old man took off running, according to the report. After a brief foot pursuit and some resisting, the man was taken into custody.
Multiple stolen items from various retail stores were reportedly found in the man’s vehicle. A pile of clothing with tags still attached was located in the trunk, and officers began sifting through items from Dick’s Sporting Goods, Academy Sports, and Tractor Supply, according to the report.
The man was arrested and is now charged with retail theft, evading arrest and resisting arrest.
