Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Central Statistical Organization (CSO) of the Iraqi Ministry of Planning revealed on Monday that the monthly inflation rate rose by 1.7 percent in April compared to March.

The annual inflation rate also increased by 4.3 percent compared to April 2025, local news outlet Shafaq News reported.

The International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) 2026 predictions, issued in April, indicated a significant difference in inflation rates across Arab countries.

Iraq sustained a moderate percentage of roughly three percent, making it one of the region’s more stable countries.

Sudan has the highest inflation rate with 74.1 percent, followed by Egypt with 13.2 percent and Tunisia with 6.5 percent, showing that these nations’ economies are still under strain.

The IMF projections indicate that Iraq maintains considerable stability, increasing the prospect of economic balance throughout the coming stage.

Iraq has one of the lowest inflation rates in the Arab world, approximately 1.5 percent, according to IMF data.

This level demonstrates some degree of stability in the local market, notably in basic commodity prices, when compared to other countries that suffered substantial price increases over the same year.
