Attorney General Dave Sunday on Tuesday announced felony charges against Sarah Wass, 36, of Harrisburg, the former treasurer of the Lebanon County Foster Parent Alliance.

Wass was charged with felony counts of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds.

She was arraigned Tuesday and released after posting bail, which was set at $10,000 by Lebanon County Magisterial District Judge Kim R. Wolfe.

The LCFPA is a nonprofit organization that supports foster children and families in and around Lebanon County.

According to the attorney general’s office, Wass made several large cash withdrawals from LCFPA accounts for personal use and failed to deposit large cash donations between 2024 and 2025. She was the owner of a child care center in Dauphin County when she became the organization’s treasurer in 2024.

The Lebanon County District Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.

“This defendant held positions of authority and great trust over organizations that support and empower children when she decided to serve herself by, time and time again, stealing funds that were supposed to help kids and families,” Sunday said.

Senior Deputy Attorney General John Hamme is prosecuting the case.

Wass is scheduled to appear in front of Judge Wolfe again on July 9 for a preliminary hearing.
