Crews battle brush fire on Clear Spring Road in North Annville Township, Lebanon County
You know, and if you’re going to be outside, that’s what you need for the next couple of days. Absolutely just want to make sure if you’re going to be outside to stay hydrated and take breaks from the sun, especially if you’re sensitive to the sun, because it’s going to get quite hot. We are talking about alert day starting tomorrow, highs in the upper 90s to near 100. In fact, we could have *** couple of days hitting that 100 degree mark, but more importantly, when you factor in the humidity, it’s going to feel more like 100. 5 to 110. That is dangerous, uh, heat. So certainly want to take it easy and keep an eye on the elderly, children, pets, uh, also yourself. Just make sure you stay hydrated and if you need to get out of the sun, if your heart starts racing or what have you, just listen to your body. Now we do have an extreme heat warning that goes into effect tomorrow at noon until 8:00 p.m. Friday. That is why we have it. It is an alert period, alert. Each and every day through Friday. So, um, and again just make sure you take frequent breaks and stay hydrated. Now the heat indices, as I mentioned, not only tomorrow but also on Thursday, that scorching heat continues into Friday, and I think Thursday and Friday would be the best days of hitting 100 degrees. Saturday is still going to be quite steamy and hot. We do have it as an impact day because we could still have heat into sea values. Between 100 and 104. In fact, we do have *** heat advisory that goes into effect at 8 p.m. on Friday, and that will continue until Saturday at 8 o’clock this evening. It’s toasty out there. Temperatures, uh, will fall into the 80s after 8 o’clock, uh, about 86 degrees. Winds are light with some scattered clouds, partly cloudy tonight, muggy, patchy fog. Look at that low, 74 degrees. It’s going to be warm. And tomorrow that steamy sunshine is really going to crank up those temperatures. Highs right now we’re forecasting 98. The record is 100, but it’s going to feel like 105 or hotter. Check out these high temperatures. So tomorrow we could come close to 100. Thursday, Friday, I think we have *** good chance of hitting 100 or hotter. 96 on Saturday. Then we start to see temperatures dropping back as the heat dome relaxes and the ridge breaks down. That’s going to allow for storm activity though to increase. Now the last time we had back to back 100 degree highs in Harrisburg was July 21st and 22nd in 2011. You can see the highs were 101. And 103. In your weather and health check, pollen level, grass pollen is high. Air quality for ozone is poor, and it’s very likely they’ll issue an air quality alert for tomorrow. We have one in effect today. Uh, really the next couple days you can expect that the UV index is also high. Uh, about 15 to 20 minute burn times. So definitely want to make sure you have the sunscreen on right now. We’re sitting at 92 in Lebanon, 91 in Lancaster, Harrisburg, Carlisle, and Lewistown. Dew points though *** little lower to the east in the low 60s, but most of the area upper 60s to low 70s, so it feels much hotter outside. It feels like it’s in the mid. To upper 90s you can clearly make out where the ridge is because you can see the storms following the path of the ridge all the way around. This is what’s going to break down later this week and allow our storm chances to increase, but in the meantime we’ve got this heat dome just centered right over the Ohio Valley and it’s going to center right over top of us starting. Tomorrow now the model wants to pick up, uh, you know, produce *** shower tomorrow. I think that chance is very low, but we’ll keep an eye on things. The air is very warm in the upper levels, so it’s really going to be hard to sustain any shower activity. Lots of sunshine, sultry sunshine on Thursday. Winds coming in from the west, so you can see our rain chances here 10% tomorrow. Uh, we’re dry Thursday. We start to see our chances go up Friday at 20%. 10% chance, *** little better chance unfortunately as we head into the holiday weekend, but storms on Saturday for the Fourth of July will be scattered in nature, so hit or miss, so not everybody will see them. We will also watch for isolated strong to severe storms. It’s still going to be hot with *** high of 96. Now Sunday, *** good chance for showers and storms. Temperatures around 90, and then we’re back into the 80s by Monday and early next week. Temperatures more seasonal.

Crews were called to the fire just before 3 p.m. in the 400 block of Clear Spring Road in North Annville Township, according to dispatchers.
So far, no injuries, road closures, or fire spread have been reported.
Emergency crews remain on the scene, with North Annville Fire Company in command.
