Islam Times – The Tehran Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor announced that an indictment has been issued against Reza Pahlavi, the leader of monarchists opposed to the Islamic Republic, on multiple security-, terrorism-, and organized crime-related charges, adding that the case has been referred to the competent court.According to Mizan, the news agency of Iran’s Judiciary, Tehran Prosecutor Ali Salehi said that following criminal complaints filed by the Office of the Attorney General and the Tehran Prosecutor’s Office, and the opening of a case at the Tehran Prosecutor’s Office for International Affairs, extensive and specialized judicial investigations were conducted into the actions of Reza Pahlavi.
He said that after the completion of the investigation, receipt of reports from the relevant authorities, collection of evidence and documentation, and completion of the required legal procedures, an indictment was issued in accordance with the law and the case was referred to the competent court.
Salehi stated that the investigation covered a series of criminal acts committed by the defendant in recent years, particularly during the unrest of recent years, the terrorist attacks of January 2024, and actions related to the recent imposed war waged by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran.
The Tehran Prosecutor stressed that, under the laws of the Islamic Republic of Iran, no immunity is recognized for individuals accused of crimes against national security, territorial integrity, or the lives and property of Iranian citizens.
According to Salehi, the judiciary will make use of all available legal, national, and international mechanisms to identify, prosecute, and pursue those accused of such crimes until the process reaches its final conclusion.
He added that none of those accused of such offenses, regardless of their place of residence, nationality, or political status, will be immune from prosecution or accountability before the law.
The indictment charges Reza Pahlavi with “corruption on earth” (efsad-e fel-arz) through the establishment, leadership, and command of organized groups and networks with the aim of undermining the country’s security; directing, commanding, ordering, and organizing terrorist and violent acts; financing activities attributed to organized groups and networks; espionage and intelligence and operational cooperation with foreign intelligence and military services; and inciting, encouraging, and provoking violence, rebellion, war, killings, and disruption of public order and national security.
