A heat wave is hitting Israel this Sunday and will be especially powerful during the first half of next week, according to the Israel Meteorological Service

The weather will become unseasonably hot in the mountains and inland areas, and muggy along the coastal plain. Heavy heat stress will prevail in many areas.

At the moment, there is no end in sight for the upcoming heatwave, and the Director of the Israel Meteorological Service, Dr. Amir Givati, forecasts that it will remain with us next week in varying intensities.

This follows already hot weather last week, with the heatwave expected to arrive in force today and continuing into next week.

The high temperatures will characterize the entire Mediterranean region and southern Europe over the coming days, but in western and central Europe, the heatwave will give way next week to more comfortable temperatures and even rain.
