Iran has sent a chilling warning to Donald Trump as fears over World War 3 erupting skyrocket to alarming levels. Pictures taken today (July 30) in Tehran’s showpiece Azadi Square show a banner depict a bloodied US President and the words “We will kill you” next to an Iranian missile system.
The banner shows the 80-year-old looking up in fear with his hands either side of his face. Blood can be seen splattered all over his face and suit. Behind him, the White House can be seen to be up in flames. A drone is also on display in the square. These scenes come on the day Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) vowed to “punish the aggressor today” after the US military said it had completed a “heavy wave of strikes” overnight.
The IRGC also released an earlier statement warning countries helping the US of a harsh response if they “do not correct their behaviour”.
The group reaffirmed its claim to the Strait of Hormuz, calling it “our land” and saying its naval forces exercise “full control” over the waterway. It added that “a stranger who has come from thousands of kilometres away” would not be allowed to interfere
US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated their strikes were carried out as a direct response to attempted IRGC attacks the previous day, which had targeted American forces deployed across the Middle East.
CENTCOM added that the two-hour long strikes had struck “military command centres, missile and drone facilities, coastal surveillance and defence sites, and maritime capabilities”.
The Defence force added that all missiles were successfully intercepted during the Iranian offensive on Tuesday and that forces “remain vigilant and at a high state of readiness”.
In repsonse, Mr Trump told reporters yesterday: “We’re going to be hitting them very hard because it’s our turn to hit them. They know it’s coming.”
Speaking in the Oval Office yesterday evening, he warned: “It’s our turn.”
