On January 17, 2022, the Houthis in Yemen launched an attack on the United Arab Emirates. The attack included a barrage of ballistic missiles and drones, some of which struck oil facilities and Abu Dhabi International Airport. Three people were killed. Two months later – according to leaked documents – Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems responded to an urgent Emirati request for assistance, drawing up a detailed proposal for the rapid supply of its most advanced drones.
