Israel has come a long way since November 1995. A lot of water has flowed under the Jordan River bridge, and many more settlements have been built in the West Bank. Since the “candle children” sat in Tel Aviv’s Malchei Israel Square and cried over the political assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin by Yigal Amir – a far-right assassin who wanted to stop the peace process and succeeded – countless attempts have been made to unite the nation against political violence.
