Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Al-Zaidi has directed all security and military formations to raise their operational readiness and combat preparedness, according to the Security Media Cell.

The directive aims to maintain a high state of preparedness across Iraq’s security forces through intensified training exercises and operational movements designed to strengthen national security and protect public interests.

In a statement, the Security Media Cell said the Commander-in-Chief instructed security and military forces to increase their level of readiness while conducting training exercises and field movements.

The measures are intended to ensure that all security formations remain fully prepared to carry out their assigned duties and respond to potential security developments.

According to the statement, the directive is part of ongoing efforts to maintain continuous operational readiness across Iraq’s armed forces.

The Security Media Cell said the enhanced readiness program is designed to reinforce Iraq’s security framework and improve the capabilities of military and security units.

Officials stated that maintaining high readiness contributes to:

Strengthening national security.

Preserving public stability.

Protecting Iraqi citizens.

Safeguarding public institutions and national interests.

The government has increasingly emphasized preparedness amid evolving regional security challenges.

The announcement comes during a period of elevated security concerns in Iraq following recent regional developments and heightened tensions involving armed groups.

The official statement, however, does not specify any particular threat or military operation linked to the readiness order.

Some media reports and political analysts have suggested the move may be connected to broader security developments or precautionary planning ahead of upcoming government deadlines. These assessments are analytical interpretations and were not included in the official Security Media Cell statement.

The latest directive reflects Baghdad’s continued focus on ensuring the operational effectiveness of Iraq’s security institutions.

By ordering additional training activities and maintaining high alert levels, the government aims to preserve stability while ensuring security forces remain prepared to respond to any developments affecting the country’s security environment.
