Three Israeli civilians crossed into Syria from Mount Hermon on Monday night, the IDF announced in a statement on Tuesday.
IDF soldiers located all three and returned them to Israeli territory, where they were transferred to Israeli police for questioning, the statement said.
The military condemned the civilians’ behavior, explaining that such additional incidents disturb IDF operational activity in the area.
“The law enforcement authorities are required to bring those involved to justice and to prevent those individuals from repeatedly engaging in this incident, which constitutes a criminal offense,” it said.
