(NewsNation) — President Trump may order another round of strikes on Iran within the next 30 days as Tehran continues threatening traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, Sen. Rick Scott, R-Florida, told “The Hill” on Tuesday.
“He’s given diplomacy a chance. Iran has walked away from it,” Scott, a member of the Armed Services Committee, said. “At some point, he will not have a choice but to do more to destroy their ability to produce weapons.”
Scott added he’s not privy to intelligence provided to Trump. He was responding to comments made earlier in the week by Sen. Jim Justice, R-W.Va., who lamented that the Iran war has become a “mess” as it nears the six-month mark.
“We’d all like gas prices down, and we’d all like not to be at war,” Scott said. “War’s horrible but being killed by a nuclear weapon is worse.”
