Some ships carrying Iraqi crude have been cleared to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, according to a media report.
BlockBeats, a cryptocurrency-focused outlet, cited China Central Television on August 22 as reporting that Iraq’s president disclosed the matter after discussing bilateral relations with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf during his visit to Iran.
Some vessels carrying Iraqi crude had received permission to transit the Strait of Hormuz, the president said.
He also stressed that the Iraqi government should resolve weapons control issues through talks with militia groups. He added that Iran had not asked Iraq to delay state-level procedures on weapons control.
