WANA (Aug 23) – Iran’s Acting Defense Minister Brig. Gen. Ibn al-Reza said the Defense Ministry is preparing for potential threats over the next 50 years, emphasizing long-term planning based on the experience gained from the recent war.
He said the Defense Ministry is relying on capable managers, motivated personnel and specialized experts to study future developments and design its plans accordingly.
Ibn al-Reza added that the ministry’s approach would focus on making maximum use of the country’s national and domestic capabilities, including greater use of the potential of the public.
Referring to the role of human capital in the recent war, he said the value of Iran’s skilled personnel was clearly demonstrated during the conflict, with a significant portion of the capabilities deployed on the battlefield resulting from the knowledge, experience and expertise of the country’s specialists.
The acting defense minister also pointed to the economic and operational dimensions of the war, saying Iran had fought in an asymmetric and cost-effective manner, while its adversary had entered the conflict at significantly higher costs.
