Girl, 14, is second teen charged in Lebanon, Maine, shooting
LEBANON, Maine —
A 14-year-old girl from Sanford has now been charged in connection with a shooting in Lebanon on Saturday.
The York County Sheriff’s Office says a man called for help at about 2 a.m. on Saturday saying someone in another vehicle had fired multiple shots at his car on Route 202. At least one shot went through the driver’s side door, and other shots hit the tires, causing the car to stop. The driver of the vehicle that was shot was not hurt.
Zachary Shaw, 19, of Sanford, was arrested at about 4:40 a.m. that day in Sanford and charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and criminal mischief. Police said on Saturday that they had recovered the weapon used in the shooting.
On Monday, police said a 14-year-old girl had also been charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon. She was taken to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland. Because of her age, her name was not released.
Shaw was scheduled to make his first court appearance at the York Judicial Center in Biddeford on Monday afternoon. Police have said the charges against him could be upgraded.
