Putin Unveils Russia’s Iskander-1000 In War As Kyiv Becomes First Target Of Deadly New Missile
Russia has reportedly used its new Iskander-1000 extended-range ballistic missile in combat for the first time, with Ukrainian intelligence claiming the weapon struck a target in Kyiv on August 27. The upgraded missile is believed to double the range of the Iskander-M from 500 km to 1,000 km through a more powerful propulsion system and redesigned launcher. Analysts say the missile could eventually be deployed in Kaliningrad, bringing much of Central and Western Europe within range. If confirmed, the combat debut marks a significant escalation in Russia’s long-range strike capabilities during the ongoing war in Ukraine.
