Lebanon Police Department says more people attacked by either a fisher or a gray fox
LEBANON, N.H. —
The Lebanon Police Department said more animal attacks have been reported following an incident involving a fisher on Sunday.
Police said all three attacks happened near Centerra Park, with the first attack taking place on Sunday. Since then, two additional attacks were reported. The most recent attack took place on Monday evening.
Investigators said the animal was described as either a fisher, which is in the weasel family, or a gray fox. That animal is reportedly displaying unusually aggressive behavior toward people.
Police said they have not personally observed the animal, so they are not sure whether it is a fox or a fisher.
The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department is working with local police to learn more.
Anyone walking in Centerra Park is urged to be extra cautious, especially near wooded or brush-covered areas. They are also being asked to avoid wildlife and not to try to feed or interact with the animal.
