KEY HIGHLIGHTS
WFP Iraq, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, launched the “Healthy Kitchen” pilot to enhance the National School Feeding Programme. Financed by the Ministry and supported by WFP technical assistance, centrally managed kitchens will distribute nutritious, locally sourced meals to school clusters. supporting local agriculture and vulnerable livelihoods and generating evidence for a sustainable, government-led scale-up of school feeding in Iraq.
Humanitarian funding shortfalls are impacting WFP’s ability to maintain assistance. Continued donor engagement is critical to safeguard support for displaced populations and sustain resilience‑building initiatives.
