  • March 20, 2026

LEBANON, Tenn. (WSMV) – Inbound commuters to Nashville will likely encounter some slowing on the interstate Friday morning.

The Lebanon Police Department (LPD) reported that a crash on I-40 has forced them to shut down all the westbound lanes near the Hartmann Drive exit ramp.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation reported that the crash occurred at about 7:30 a.m. and involved at least two vehicles.

LPD suggested that serious injuries are involved in this crash.

Westbound traffic is being diverted off the interstate at Cumberland Street, and vehicles already stuck west of that exit ramp will be directed to exit onto Hartmann Drive.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is also at the scene and investigating the incident.
