A Syrian citizen managed to approach an IDF installation on the Syrian side of the border in the southern Golan Heights on Monday without being detected beforehand. The IDF is investigating the incident.
Military sources told Channel 12 that the Syrian was taken for questioning by the security forces. According to the sources, an initial inquiry into the incident found that it was not an attempt to carry out an attack.
The IDF is probing the incident and how the Syrian managed to approach the installation undetected.
Meanwhile, another incident occurred overnight along the Syrian border. IDF troops detained two Syrian nationals in the Mount Hermon sector on suspicion of involvement in cross-border smuggling attempts.
The two suspects were transferred to security forces for questioning.
