WANA (Sep 09) – According to data released by the U.S. Department of Defense, 26 additional service members have been added to the military casualty list.
As reported by RT, the update brings the total number of wounded U.S. troops to 820, while the officially reported death toll remains unchanged at 18.
The defense figures arrive as Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) released its own assessment of U.S. military losses over a 15-day period.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon’s official numbers face significant scrutiny from major media outlets, including The New York Times and The Intercept, which report that the Department of Defense may be downplaying the true extent of casualties for political reasons.
U.S. media reports suggest that actual casualty figures among American forces are substantially higher than what is being officially disclosed in Washington.
Addressing the situation, Mohsen Rezaei, military advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, stated that drone and missile strikes have killed hundreds of American soldiers and wounded hundreds more.
The New York Times similarly reported that the actual casualty count across U.S. bases in Jordan, Iraq, and the Persian Gulf region is closer to 500.
