LEBANON, N.H. (WCAX) – Professional hockey player Tate Singleton returned to his old school Wednesday in Lebanon.
The 28-year-old AHL skater was born in the Upper Valley and attended Lebanon Middle School. He signed autographs and spoke with students during the lunch hour, many of whom told us they were inspired by his visit.
“I want to be a professional hockey player when I grow up. And it is really cool because he goes to Lebanon, and Lebanon is not like a known place for professional hockey players,” said eith grader Brice Marsh.
“Sometimes I really wanted to meet professional athletes, and usually I don’t meet professional athletes, so I feel really good about it,” said seventh grader Shantel LaClair.
“It’s just overall great. I play hockey; he played at Storm, I play at Storm. And I like playing hockey,” said fifth grader Matias Kennelly.
This is not the first time a pro athlete visited the school. Last year, WNBA player and Lebanon native Taylor Soule greeted the kids. Educators say these events show the students that anything is possible.
