BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermonters spoke their mind about war in the Middle East on this day in history.
On March 22nd, 2003, just three days after the U.S. launched air strikes on Baghdad, opponents of the war marched through the streets of Burlington, condemning what they saw as an unjustified war of aggression.
Other Vermonters gathered to take a pro-war stance. Both sides were united by their support for American troops.
Three dozen servicemembers with ties to Vermont would die during the conflict.
