Lebanese media has reported that the Israeli military has attacked a major bridge linking southern Lebanon with the rest of the country.
The al-Qasmiyeh bridge was shelled, the Lebanese state news agency NNA reported on Sunday.
The Israeli army announced shortly beforehand that a wave of attacks had begun against Hezbollah infrastructure in the south of Lebanon. There was initially no information about casualties.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said on Sunday morning that the army had been instructed to “immediately destroy all bridges over the Litani River that serve terrorist activities.”
The aim, he said, was to prevent members of the Iran-aligned Lebanese Hezbollah militia and weapons from reaching the south.
In addition, Katz said the military should accelerate the destruction of houses in the Lebanese border area with Israel to prevent a threat to Israeli border towns. This, he said, would follow the “model” of the border areas in the Gaza Strip.
The Shiite militia resumed its attacks on Israel after the start of the Iran war more than three weeks ago, and Israel responded with heavy air strikes and ground operations across its northern frontier into Lebanon.
