Police in New Hampshire and Vermont have linked a man on probation for burglary convictions to the theft of a Girl Scouts cashbox, according to court documents. In late February, police said a man stole the cashbox with $1,000 off a Girl Scout cookie sales table outside the Walmart on Plainfield Road in West Lebanon. Surveillance footage showed the man running across the parking lot of a nearby liquor store and driving away in a Jeep Grand Cherokee.In Vermont, investigators later connected the vehicle to William Bohan, 33, of Fairlee, who was on probation for a string of burglaries in 2022.When officers made contact at the home, the individual was questioned by police. According to an affidavit filed by a probation officer, he admitted to taking the money and stated that most of it had already been spent on drugs. Bohan was arrested and is currently being held pending a probation violation hearing. Bohan is scheduled to appear in Orange County Criminal Court on April 22.The Lebanon Police Department told NBC5 on Monday that there is an active arrest warrant for Bohan in New Hampshire for charges related to the cashbox theft.
