The European Policy Centre (EPC) invites you to an online Policy Dialogue examining the US–Israel war against Iran and its far-reaching regional and global impact.
On 28 February, the United States and Israel launched coordinated airstrikes on strategic and military sites in Iran, which resulted in the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several senior Iranian political and military officials. In response, Iran launched waves of missiles and drones targeting Israel and US military bases in the region, with attacks expanding to critical infrastructure in several Gulf states.
This discussion will examine the implications of the war for the future security architecture of the Middle East. It will assess how the confrontation is reshaping the positions of regional actors, as well as its broader economic consequences beyond the Middle East. The debate will also consider European reactions, interests and potential avenues for de-escalation.
Participation is open to EPC member, media and EU officials.
