A 29-year-old Lebanon man was sentenced for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Robert Beaumont, 29, of Lebanon, was sentenced April 7 to 65 months of imprisonment by United States District Judge Keli M. Neary for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
State police in Lebanon County were dispatched for a report of a man slumped over the wheel of a car, according to United States Attorney Brian D. Miller. When police arrived, they found Beaumont asleep in the driver’s seat of a black Nissan. Police saw loose heroin on the passenger seat and took him into custody.
“During a search of the vehicle, police found a loaded SCCY CPX-2 9mm pistol under the driver’s seat,” officials said in a release. “They also found heroin, methamphetamine, and assorted drug paraphernalia.”
Beaumont had previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and related charges in 2020. Officials said he was ineligible to possess a firearm.
Assistant United States Attorney Michael Scalera prosecuted the case, which was part of the Operation Take Back America initiative.
