A similar statement was made after Damascus announced it thwarted a Hezbollah-affiliated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/middle-east\/article-893498\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">attack on a rabbi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe repetition of these claims by Syrian security authorities despite our repeated declarations that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/defense-news\/article-895260\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hezbollah<\/a> has no presence inside Syrian territory\u2026 raises major questions,\u201d the terrorist group wrote, alleging it was part of a wider attempt to divide the Lebanese and Syrian people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Members of the cell were detained during a \u201cseries of simultaneous security operations\u201d in Damascus countryside, Aleppo, Homs, Tartus, and Latakia provinces, according to the official statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Authorities also seized a large weapons cache, including explosive devices, rifles, and ammunition, the ministry claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Interior Ministry spokesperson Nour al-Din al-Baba told Syria\u2019s al-Ikhbariya television that investigations began after authorities learned of a plot to target an internal security unit in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/middle-east\/article-894799\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aleppo<\/a> with an explosive device.
