Prime Minister-elect P\u00e9ter Magyar has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.il\/en\/pages\/spoke-call150426\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">invited<\/a> Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to attend the ceremony in Budapest, only days after pledging to reverse Viktor Orb\u00e1n\u2019s June 2025 withdrawal from the International Criminal Court.<\/p>\n<p>Behind the procedural tension sits a wider gap that has opened up between the Central and Eastern European countries, which have historically been Israel\u2019s closest defenders inside the EU and the publics their governments answer to.<\/p>\n<p>Fading sympathies<\/p>\n<p>Different surveys have been conducted to assess Israel\u2019s public perception in CEE.
