was sectioned by the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) in February 2026<\/a> for facilitating those same exports.<\/p>\n
\n\tThat move came as part of a broader action targeting Iran’s shadow fleet with US authorities saying at the time Ocean Koi had \u201ctransported millions of barrels of Iranian high sulfur fuel oil (HSFO) and condensate since May 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tOcean Koi had operated as part of the Iranian shadow fleet since at least 2020, OFAC said, and designated its owner, Marshall Islands-based Ocean Kudos Shipping Co Ltd, as a blocked entity.<\/p>\n
\n\tIran’s Tasnim News Agency today reported that the Navy carried out a “special operation” to seize the vessel, which was subsequently directed to Iran’s southern coast and handed to judicial authorities.<\/p>\n
