Recent days have seen the U.S. and Iran exchange fire, despite a monthlong ceasefire which U.S. President Donald Trump maintains<\/a> is “still in effect.”<\/p>\n

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said<\/a> the U.S. was anticipating an answer from Iran on a peace proposal. \u201cWe\u2019re expecting a response from them today at some point,” Rubio told reporters on Friday<\/a>. “I hope it\u2019s a serious offer, I really do. \u2026 The hope is it\u2019s something that can put us into a serious process of negotiation,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

Trump has warned<\/a> the U.S. would “knock [Iran] out a lot harder, and a lot more violently,” if Tehran does not accept a peace deal.<\/p>\n

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Friday accused<\/a> the U.S. of opting for a “reckless military adventure” every time a “diplomatic solution is on the table.”<\/p>\n

“Is it a crude pressure tactic?
