Reservist 1st Sgt. Alexander Glovanyov, 47, from Petah Tikva, was killed near the Lebanon border<\/a>, the IDF announced on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Glovanyov was a lead vehicle driver in the 6924th Transport Battalion of the Technological and Logistics Directorate. His family has been notified.<\/p>\n

Army Radio reported on Sunday morning that Glovanyov had been killed after several Hezbollah drones<\/a> had crossed into Israeli airspace and exploded near the Lebanon border.<\/p>\n

According to the report, the IDF had failed to identify the drones,<\/a> and as such, Glovanyov received no advance warning of the danger and was killed by one of the explosions.<\/p>\n

Army Radio also stated that Glovanyov was the fourth IDF soldier to be killed during the ongoing ceasefire<\/a> with Hezbollah as a result of explosive drones.<\/p>\n

“The heart breaks with the news of the fall of Sgt. Maj. (res.) Alexander Glovanyov,” Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel wrote on X\/Twitter early Sunday morning. “I share in the family’s heavy grief over the fall of their beloved one, a driver in the 6924th Battalion of the Transportation Center, in a battle near the Lebanese border.”<\/p>\n
