{"id":108153,"date":"2026-05-11T10:41:21","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T10:41:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/108153\/"},"modified":"2026-05-11T10:41:21","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T10:41:21","slug":"three-women-linked-to-is-charged-over-alleged-actions-in-syria-after-returning-to-australia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/108153\/","title":{"rendered":"Three women linked to IS charged over alleged actions in Syria after returning to Australia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three women who arrived back in Australia after spending years in Syrian detention camps have been charged, with one facing an allegation of joining\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/islamic-state\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Islamic State<\/a>\u00a0and two others facing allegations of crimes against humanity, The\u00a0Guardian reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The women were among a group of 13 women and children who arrived on separate flights \u2013 one into Sydney and one into\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/australia-news\/melbourne\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Melbourne<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 on Thursday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Two women from the group \u2013 Kawsar Abbas, 53, and her daughter Zeinab Ahmad, 31 \u2013 were arrested by officers from the Victorian joint counter-terrorism team (JCTT) at Melbourne airport.<\/p>\n<p>Abbas and Ahmad were charged with crimes against humanity including enslavement and using a slave.
