Worshippers sitting in circles reading the<br \/>\nQuran, and volunteers prepared simple iftar meals for fasting visitors.<\/p>\n<p>After sunset, the faithful perform Maghrib and<br \/>\nIsha prayers before visiting the shrine, continuing a Ramadan tradition that<br \/>\ndraws thousands to one of Iraq\u2019s most prominent religious landmarks.<\/p>\n<p>Across Iraq, similar scenes of solidarity and<br \/>\ngenerosity unfold each evening as communities organize volunteer initiatives to<br \/>\nhelp fasting people break their fast \u2014moments that capture the country\u2019s<br \/>\nenduring social cohesion even as regional tensions intensify.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1773058780242.webp.webp\"\/><\/p>\n<p>In Al-Sulaymaniyah of Iraqi Kurdistan, the local<br \/>\norganization Bela has spent the entire month distributing quick iftar meals to<br \/>\nfasting people stuck on the streets at sunset, including travelers, workers,<br \/>\nand commuters unable to reach their homes in time for the evening call to<br \/>\nprayer.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers spread out across busy intersections<br \/>\nand main roads shortly before sunset, handing out packaged meals so fasting<br \/>\npeople can break their fast on time. <\/p>\n<p>Azima Hassan, the project supervisor, told<br \/>\nShafaq News that what makes this effort special is that many of the volunteers<br \/>\nare elderly people who continue to participate actively in community service, noting<br \/>\nthat volunteer teams begin preparations well before sunset, assembling meals<br \/>\ncontaining essential food items that allow fasting people to break their fast<br \/>\nwith dignity.
