Generally, the Golani Brigade\u2019s area of operations is in southern Lebanon parallel to the Israeli northern areas of Metula and Kiryat Shmona.<\/p>\n
According to the IDF, the goal was to remove various mortar firing cells and certain tactical tunnels Hezbollah<\/a> was using to maneuver within portions of southern Lebanon<\/a>.<\/p>\n The IDF said that over three days of fighting, it had killed around 15 Hezbollah fighters in the operation, which combined with earlier operations versus Hezbollah in the Golani\u2019s area within southern Lebanon, adding up to around 70 total.<\/p>\n In addition, the IDF said that the Golani Brigade has destroyed around 1,000 items of terror infrastructure, which could mean anything from tunnels to lookout or ambush positions, to rocket firing positions, to civilian houses where Hezbollah hid weapons.<\/p>\n Soldiers from the IDF’s Golani Brigade operating near Lebanon’s Litani River, published May 12, 2026.
