Iraq\u2019s National Security
\nService introduced on Tuesday a new multi-role drone system designed to
\nstrengthen aerial surveillance and field intelligence operations.<\/p>\n
The unmanned platform, named
\n\u201cSARA 1,\u201d is equipped with advanced monitoring and imaging systems capable of
\noperating day and night under various weather conditions while offering high maneuverability and rapid response
\ncapabilities. <\/p>\n
According to the agency, the
\ndrone has already undergone field deployment and demonstrated \u201cefficiency and
\nreliability\u201d in executing security missions, with officials describing the
\nlaunch as part of broader efforts to improve operational control and address
\nevolving threats through modern technology.<\/p>\n
The announcement comes amid On March 31, the cabinet also
\nwider Iraqi efforts to upgrade the country\u2019s military and air defense
\ninfrastructure. Earlier this year, caretaker Prime Minister Mohammed Shia
\nAl-Sudani directed<\/a> authorities to modernize and expand Iraq\u2019s air defense
\ncapabilities. <\/p>\n
\napproved<\/a> contracts for new air defense systems and related logistical
\nrequirements while reviewing plans to resume air traffic across Iraqi airspace
