Iraq\u2019s Communications and Media Commission (CMC) on Wednesday barred
\npolitical analyst Hussein al-Shalakh from appearing on television channels for
\n60 days after accusing him of violating media broadcasting regulations.<\/p>\n

The decision followed remarks al-Shalakh made during a televised
\nappearance on Alawla Iraqi Channel on May 12, which the CMC described as
\nviolations of rules banning \u201cincitement to violence and hatred,\u201d as well as
\nstandards related to \u201cpublic decency and conduct.\u201d<\/p>\n

The regulator warned Iraqi and foreign media outlets operating in the
\ncountry against hosting al-Shalakh during the ban period.<\/p>\n

On May 10, the CMC imposed<\/a> a 30-day ban on television personality Farid
\nMajid after determining that remarks he made during a sports program amounted
\nto \u201can insult to the divine.\u201d<\/p>\n
