{"id":113691,"date":"2026-05-14T14:24:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T14:24:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/113691\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T14:24:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T14:24:14","slug":"chinese-ships-pass-through-strait-of-hormuz-under-irans-management-protocol-iranian-media","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/113691\/","title":{"rendered":"Chinese ships pass through Strait of Hormuz under Iran\u2019s \u2018management protocol\u2019: Iranian media"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lina Altawell<\/p>\n<p>14 May 2026\u2022Update: 14 May 2026<\/p>\n<p>Chinese ships began transiting the Strait of Hormuz Wednesday night under Iran\u2019s \u201cmanagement protocol,\u201d Fars News Agency said Thursday, citing an informed source.<\/p>\n<p>The source said the vessels were allowed to cross the strategic waterway after they adhered to \u201cthe Iranian strait management protocol.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It said the transiting of the Chinese ships was facilitated \u201cbased on the deep relations between the two countries and strategic partnership\u201d and following efforts by China\u2019s foreign minister and the Chinese ambassador to Iran.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement came after data from the ship tracking platform Marine Traffic showed that at least four China-linked vessels passed through the strait in the past 24 hours via Iran\u2019s \u201csafe\u201d shipping corridor.<\/p>\n<p>The Strait of Hormuz, one of the world\u2019s most critical maritime chokepoints for oil and gas shipments, has remained effectively closed to most vessels since the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran in February, severely disrupting global energy and cargo flows.<\/p>\n<p>A ceasefire took effect between the US and Iran on April 8 through Pakistani mediation, but talks in Islamabad failed to produce a lasting agreement.
