Bassam Sabbagh explicitly stated that his country supports Moroccan sovereignty and welcomed the recent UN Security Council Resolution 2797. The aim is to develop multisectoral cooperation covering areas such as the economy, education and technology. To this end, it has been agreed to review and update existing agreements, seeking to create a framework that facilitates investment and the exchange of experiences between the two nations.<\/p>\n<p>This renewal aims to ensure that diplomatic relations translate into tangible benefits for mutual development, establishing permanent channels of communication to coordinate actions regarding industrial development and bilateral trade, adapting to the new realities of the international market.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" alt=\"Marruecos y Siria han consolidado un frente diplom\u00e1tico com\u00fan tras el reciente encuentro en Rabat entre sus ministros de Exteriores, Nasser Bourita y Bassam Sabbagh - PHOTO\/X\/MAROC DIPLOMATIE\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/2026051416462387119.webp\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/><br \/>\nMorocco and Syria have strengthened their joint diplomatic front following the recent meeting in Rabat between their foreign ministers, Nasser Bourita and Bassam Sabbagh &#8211; PHOTO\/X\/MAROC DIPLOMATIE<\/p>\n<p>Reopening of the Syrian Embassy in Morocco<\/p>\n<p>The Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani,\u00a0reopened the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Rabat on Thursday, raising the Syrian flag over the diplomatic mission\u2019s headquarters, during an official ceremony held in the presence of the\u00a0Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita.<\/p>\n<p>On this occasion, the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates emphasized the great symbolic significance of the reopening of the Syrian embassy in Rabat, noting that it reflects the new Syria\u2019s desire to turn a promising new page in its relations with the Kingdom of Morocco and to strengthen bilateral cooperation based on trust, solidarity, and mutual respect.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" alt=\"siria_marruecos\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/2026051500485546153.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The Syrian official reaffirmed his country\u2019s ambition to strengthen ties with Morocco in various fields, within the framework of a partnership based on dialogue and coordination, aimed at ensuring development for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Shaibani also praised the honorable and consistent positions of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, toward the Syrian people, as well as its firm and unwavering support for this people in their legitimate aspiration for freedom, dignity, and prosperity.<\/p>\n<p>For his part, Bourita expressed his satisfaction with the reopening of the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Rabat, describing this initiative as a highly significant step in the process of revitalizing relations between the two brotherly countries, following Morocco\u2019s reopening, by High Royal Instructions, of its embassy in Damascus in June 2025.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" alt=\"siria_marruecos 2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/2026051500485528383.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that this event reflects the shared commitment of Morocco and Syria to building strong and lasting relations, rooted in historic fraternal ties. Bourita also recalled the consistent, clear, and firm positions of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, in support of the brotherly Syrian people, reaffirming the Kingdom\u2019s commitment to Syria\u2019s unity, sovereignty, and stability.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, he expressed Morocco\u2019s willingness to stand by Syria during this delicate transition phase, through support based on solidarity, dialogue, and cooperation, with the aim of contributing to the realization of the Syrian people\u2019s aspirations for security, stability, and development.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" alt=\"bourita_siria\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/2026051500485541860.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Defence of the Palestinian cause and the role of Al-Quds<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Syria has praised Morocco\u2019s role in protecting the rights of the Palestinian people. The Syrian minister specifically highlighted the work carried out by the chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, King Mohammed VI, to preserve the identity of the Holy City.
