{"id":115485,"date":"2026-05-15T16:25:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T16:25:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/115485\/"},"modified":"2026-05-15T16:25:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T16:25:08","slug":"uae-to-accelerate-new-oil-pipeline-bypassing-strait-of-hormuz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/115485\/","title":{"rendered":"UAE to &#8216;accelerate&#8217; new oil pipeline bypassing Strait of Hormuz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n      A truck drives past an ADNOC Gas a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company facility in Abu Dhabi [Getty]<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newarab.com\/news\/iran-war-undermines-dubai-economic-safe-haven-appeal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">United Arab Emirates<\/a> is to fast-track construction of a new oil pipeline bypassing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newarab.com\/tag\/strait-hormuz\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Strait of Hormuz<\/a>, official media said on Friday, after the Middle East war crippled exports through the vital waterway.<\/p>\n<p>The West-East Pipeline will double state oil giant ADNOC&#8217;s capacity through Fujairah port and is expected to become operational next year, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said.<\/p>\n<p>Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan &#8220;directed ADNOC to accelerate delivery of the project&#8221;, the report said.<\/p>\n<p>An existing, 360-kilometre (224 miles) pipeline from the Habshan oil fields to Fujairah has a capacity of 1.8 million barrels per day, according to the Port of Fujairah website.<\/p>\n<p>The UAE, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newarab.com\/analysis\/uae-quits-opec-what-next-oil-gulf-and-geopolitics\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">which made waves by quitting oil cartel OPEC<\/a> at the start of this month, has plans to raise production capacity to five million barrels a day by next year.<\/p>\n<p>Oil facilities in Fujairah have been repeatedly struck during the Middle East war.
